Pros

I love the autonomy, flexible hours, and computerized charting. I stay busy, sometimes too busy, but it makes time go by fast.

Cons

There is a lot of turnover in home care, especially in management. It makes it difficult to know who to go to when you have a problem. The caseloads are outrageous sometimes which makes effective case management nearly impossible. When this is brought to management attention we are told 'people are working on it' or 'you need to prioritize better'. These statements are neither helpful nor encouraging.

Pros

The best thing about the job is that the hours are flexiable and every once in a while, you'll meet a patient who is willing to pay a little extra to help make up for what you doing.

Cons

The benefit sucks, the pay is unbelivably low compare to the amount of work you have to do, the supervisors are very overworked and do not care about the aides.
