Pros

Stipends were good. Lucky enough to have a team to bond over how horrible things were getting day after day.

Cons

In the beginning, this was such an exciting company to work for, so much promise. Those promises quickly turned into disappointment after disappointment. The way that team structure changed multiple times over the course of a couple months caused a lot of roadblocks and really impacted a lot of employees growth. Being promised that you would get a promotion and then quickly being laid off was a huge disappointment. I understand layoffs happen but the way the the company handled it was a joke. Managers were robotic in their meetings and employees were left sitting there waiting to see if a surprise meeting would pop up on their calendar.

Pros

VTS is a good company to work with a lot of the people there that actually seem to care about the mission and work towards a common goal. They’re also pretty flexible with the hybrid policy and have some cool company perks.

Cons

It’s very very much a bro culture and if you’re not in that bro clique forget about getting any type of promotions or decent raises. Because of this culture, management is pretty inexperienced. a lot of young managers who only got promoted because they’re friends with the right people. Every year it’s mostly the people in the “clique” you see being promoted or praised. Which is sad because there are many other qualified people who could fill these positions. It feels like they’re on a little island and everyone else is watching from afar. Not a great feeling to have especially if you like the company, but I think people just get used to it and can’t complain because you have to get through the “clique” to get to the higher ups.

The company does not live up to the "best place" to work praise.

Pros

- Education stipend perks - Remote option if you work in product, engineering, or design.

Cons

- Incompetent leadership Many leads in the company are not competent. It ties back to the poor leadership of the company. The company generally expects people to live up to the next level of expectation to get promoted. However, so many are promoted to leadership positions without being ready or knowing how to manage or lead a team. - Seniority matters too much I had the experience that designs acted condescendingly and arrogantly toward me because of my years of experience. Working in this environment is just tiring. It does not foster the best outcome because you have to deal with people-issues constantly.
