Pros

I worked here for over two years now and absolutely love the people I work with. Everyone is passionate, knowledgeable, humble, smart, and kind. I’ve worked with some of the best engineers and product people here. Customer success team also partners well with the design and product to move initiatives forward and capture the right customer feedback. The work-life balance is great, but the pay is definitely on the lower side of the market range.

Cons

There are clearly some wrong business decisions that were made, including the recent acquisition of Rise and Lane. The line between “Business is doing amazing” and “Oh, we’re f**ked” is very thin and almost changes in milliseconds. Some politics are happening outside of the Product-Engineering-Design departments, which makes things confusing and non-transparent. Nick (CEO) sometimes says things during the All Hands meetings that feel like he has absolutely no respect for his employees and doesn’t care about anything except money.

Pros

VTS is a good company to work with a lot of the people there that actually seem to care about the mission and work towards a common goal. They’re also pretty flexible with the hybrid policy and have some cool company perks.

Cons

It’s very very much a bro culture and if you’re not in that bro clique forget about getting any type of promotions or decent raises. Because of this culture, management is pretty inexperienced. a lot of young managers who only got promoted because they’re friends with the right people. Every year it’s mostly the people in the “clique” you see being promoted or praised. Which is sad because there are many other qualified people who could fill these positions. It feels like they’re on a little island and everyone else is watching from afar. Not a great feeling to have especially if you like the company, but I think people just get used to it and can’t complain because you have to get through the “clique” to get to the higher ups.

Pros

Great employees. Some of them, i would call personal friends. Really good culture when going into the office. Things don't feel forced, and people are genuine. Great time off policy, and pretty good insurance and 401k system. Implementation leadership are true advocates for their subordinates, even if some wants and needs are above their heads.

Cons

Some leadership on other teams are sometimes a reason not to come into the office. Education breathes down the neck of anyone that comes in their path and reap benefits that implementation worked harder to gain. The commission doesn't make sense that education and implementation get almost the same amount in commission for properties that education put 5% of knowledge and effort into something that implementation put 95% of work, time, and effort into. Said leadership on said team is obnoxious, rude, and insults and demeans anyone who makes a singular mistake. Does not make for a good environment when all you get is negative reinforcement. Frustrating to say the least. Those who work in implementation should see better salary when comparing the other roles roles in the VTS company.
