You get to ski, while corrupting the sport.

Underpay, Complete incompetency, perverse incentives, fake "leadership" culture, refuses to learn from an astronomical turnover rate

Pros

I loved my team and my business partners. And of course, it is a cool industry. That said, culture issues persist.

Cons

That said, culture issues persist. If you are not chosen (often before you even start working) to be "High Potential," you are treated poorly and not given opportunities to advance. Leadership seems to play favorites based on personal relationships and personal characteristics moreso than experience and quality of work. Too much work for below market pay and benefits. A free ski pass doesn't pay the bills.

Pros

Get to work outdoors with amazing views. Basically get exercise all day in a lot of work locations so it's not hard to lose weight. 4 day work weeks allow you to use your free lessons and ski pass. Ski pass is good for all Vail resorts, which includes several in the area. If you build trust with management they will generally treat you well.

Cons

Really low pay considering how expensive food is in Vail. You will be exposed to the sun pretty much all day in most work areas so you have to bring your own sun screen. A few crappy management members will try to get you to come in on your days off for extra training or work, and will treat you poorly if you won't, effectively mandatory overtime despite policies that state otherwise. Sick days are highly discouraged but everyone gets sick because they live in dorm-like conditions. Most of your coworkers will probably be nomad potheads with no goals in life (hence the stricter management protocols).
