Pros

Flexible work schedules and ski pass; job perks increase with relatively short tenure. Good focus on employee safety.

Cons

Lack of professional ability among management with an overly strong tendency to promote from within based on tenure rather than merit. This creates an inbred culture that is slow to adapt to changing business needs and preserves employees who have overstayed their productive abilities. HR department struggles to help employees with basic tasks, which is a real problem with such heavy reliance on seasonal employees.

Pros

Great and interesting business model. Great opportunity to interact with all levels of the organization. Management team is not afraid to make tough decisions.

Cons

Vail Resorts rests on their laurels that they have the Vail Resorts brand name. They think everyone in the world would want to work for VR, despite the fact their pay is significantly below market.
