Pros

The bank is on a growth trajectory, with the stated objective of reaching $100B assets on deposit. To some customers, Valley Bank is a great partner and they would not work with anyone else.

Cons

Valley took a sharp turn with the recent acquisition of the much smaller Bank Leumi USA. The Valley CEO seems to have given the reigns to Leumi's management team, replacing portions of Valley's management team with Leumi management, and shifting from a "relationship based, Valley family" internal culture, to a cold "transaction based" culture where you should watch your back. The internal sense is that Valley has unofficially committed to transforming the bank to be Leumi-like, in order to later sell Valley back to Leumi's former parent Bank Leumi of Israel, thus achieving the stated goal of becoming a $100B bank.
