Pros

My manager seems to really care about training, mentoring, and guiding me. Overall everyone seems friendly and willing to help you. The owners and CEOs seem to really care about the employees and are always very nice. The office is beautiful and always very clean. I am looking forward to when the gym is open and yoga returns. There are a lot of great things that unfortunately I have not been able to experience due to COVID. They are very safe and everyone wears masks unless they are sitting at their desk with people further than 6 ft away. Everyone is seated atleast 6 ft away from the next employee. I will update my review when I have been here longer and hopefully things have only gotten better!

Cons

The 401k match and vesting is not great compared to other companies. I think it would make VF more competitive if at least that benefit was improved.

I appreciate this post, and love that you feel kindness through the organization. In terms of 401k, I am grateful you mentioned this. We are currently doing a deep dive into researching 401k and benefits, and we will look at this over the next several months as we believe we can do better in this area as well. Please stay tuned on that for sometime in the first half of next year. Doors are always open at vff so don’t hesitate to always ask questions and offer suggestions. Mikey

Improve the pay & benefits

Pros

The company offered proper training to new employees. It was essential for me to get trained properly on the job, and they met that criteria

Cons

The pay and benefits were certainly on the lower side for the amount of work expected from each employee at this company. I am not sure why they expect so much work at such a low compensation. It must change!

I’m sorry that you did not feel that our compensation and benefits offered were aligned to your personal needs after you accepted our offer in writing explaining the salary and the benefits. We do a thorough market analysis of competitive pay and benefits for each role and are confident in our approach. Thank you for noting our effective training for your position, that is something we have really focused on over the past 2 years and I am thrilled it is paying off. We wish you all the best in a new position.

Great People and Opportunities

Pros

Modern work environment. Business growth and forward movement. Great coworkers. Great collaboration amongst coworkers and teams. Ownership and COO care about the employees, and it is proven by their actions. Company and departmental goals are clear. Accountability. Opportunity for personal and professional growth. Employees can voice their opinion and be heard. Company is in the midst of positive change and growth.

Cons

Often high pressure to meet deadlines. Long work hours. Unrealistic expectations set by managers that do not understand the full scope and/or impact of request (– but when reasonable and realistic, you can offer your perspective which may alter the expectation). Not enough cross training of team members. If someone is OOO there may be an interruption of critical functions negatively impacting that and other departments.

Thank you so much for the review. I am so happy to hear you see the opportunities, growth, as well as the accountability mixed with the care. There are times we need to adjust expectations, and I am also happy to hear that you feel this can be adjusted once perspectives and realities are explained. We definitely have a work hard, play hard culture. The cross training of team members is a good call out, and something we have started working on, but I do agree this is a work in progress we need to continue. mikey
