Demanding pay back

Pros

Liked my editing team overall, flexible hours, good entry level job.

Cons

As if Valnet didn't pay people little enough, they're now saying that they should've paid me less than they did and are now demanding money back. Writers and editors are overworked for scraps. EIC of my site was quite poor at communicating with editing staff and it's difficult to get hired by other sites. Nobody respects Valnet sites.

Pros

It's hard to imagine a more flexible or easier job and it's easy to advance if you work well and consistently. If you have a normal interest in reading about or writing about media then it's easy and fun work, and employees being given broad metrics or quotas to meet without any other particular requirements makes getting the work done much easier and more convenient. Basically, you get a lot of leeway to make the job you have into the job you want. Also, the flexibility is good enough that I essentially never have to miss out on anything I don't want to, so you can have a full-time job with full-time pay without feeling like life revolves around working. Generally coworkers are nice, friendly, and helpful.

Cons

The starting pay for most jobs is not great, which leads to a lot of turnover for recent hires. This is down to both the employee and the company, but the job prospects are much better for someone who is self-motivated and a self-starter. There's not a lot of hand-holding which is fine for established employees, but for beginners it can be a bit confusing. The pay could be better in general too, but with all that said, being able to work whenever you want in your living room in your pajamas really outweighs the cons of the job.
