Pros

• Mission-based company with passionate employees • Superstar CEO • High talent bar, yet humble, empathetic co-workers • Transparent culture • Fast growing business, with strong underlying fundamentals • Great pay/benefits for a startup

Cons

Startups aren't for everybody. The people who've been most successful here over the years are adaptable and proactive. If that's you on the other hand - there are many opportunities for ownership and career growth.

Pros

Vanta is one of those companies that you just can't believe is real. Our product has an extremely high market fit, our leadership is kind and transparent and each and every employee who works here is also just as outstanding and intelligent. This is by far the best company I have worked for and it's really all about the product that we've created, our excellent customer base and a team of people who are not only committed to security but, are interested in producing their best work here at Vanta. Our CEO is top-notch, I’d follow her into a burning building and that sounds extreme but, that’s how much I trust her. She really does have the company as a whole at heart when she makes decisions and it shows. The company also really cares about a solid work/life balance. We have been given wellness stipends, are encouraged to take time off and we have little events throughout the month so that we can also find time to relax and recharge (cooking classes, yoga classes etc.) I also love my team, my boss is one of my favorite bosses I’ve had to date and I really appreciate her ability to support me here at Vanta and beyond. Her investment in my growth as a person and employee really makes me feel like I’m valued and not just another cog in the wheel. Also - we have a llama as our mascot, what more could you ask for?

Cons

None really! I usually am very critical of startups but, Vanta has changed that for me!

Burnout and leave

Pros

* Remote-first culture with flexibility. * Competitive market-rate compensation.

Cons

* **Too many layers of management.** There are excessive management layers that often create bottlenecks and encourage micromanagement instead of empowering employees to better serve customers and build great products. * **Lack of investment in IC.** Many teams remain understaffed, resulting in consistently high workloads. Burnout is common, and employees are frequently expected to take on responsibilities well beyond their role and pay band without recognition. * **"Flexible PTO" doesn't feel truly flexible.** While the company advertises flexible PTO, in practice there appears to be an informal limit/fake. Taking around three weeks or more of PTO can draw leadership attention, and it can feel like using the benefit may negatively affect performance reviews, even when work expectations are met. This discourages employees from taking the time off they need to recharge.
