Pros

cool office good healthcare you'll make great friends with your team good company to put on your resume

Cons

The sales department runs on a "you fail until you succeed" and "nothing is good enough" mixed mentality. As a TDR, you are the bottom rung employee and are reminded of it daily. Management does nothing to improve your experience and will actively cover their own tracks before trying to help you. Berating emails are sent out daily highlighting the failures of the prior day, and you will be scrutinized for every single thing you do. You will have no idea where you stand in the company, where you stand for promotions, and will more often than not be given verbal false promises that are never followed up on. You MUST get everything in writing in order to pull any weight. Multiple team members were promised promotions only to have it delayed without reason for another month, and another month after that. Since we are in Portland, upper management (located in NYC and NC) only communicates through our direct manager who does not disseminate information to anyone other than vague negative news on the teams performance. Your success is entirely dependent on the territory you are placed in. Territories have differing histories of success and failure and do not change, regardless of what your manager tells you. You must know that you are being set up to fail if you are in a "challenging" territory. Look into the turnover rate of TDRs and SRs for that territory and you will know which ones to avoid. If you cannot get your numbers to improve, management will belittle you and refuse to offer any type of support other than being overly scrutinized by your manager who is there as a glorified baby sitter focused on reporting your numbers. My manager chose to actively ignore me rather than try and help when I was struggling, and had no interest in me other than when I was over producing. Senior management preferred to attack you for your missteps rather than offer actual guidance. In my entire employment, I was not given any type of education to better myself in sales, only repetitious knowledge of their products that eventually I could recite in my head but rarely got the chance to discuss with potential prospects. You will quickly learn that no one in management listens to you, because they believe you do not have anything of value to say.

Pros

The product is incredible. It's is intuitive, powerful and proven itself over and over. The company shifted positions to market itself as a security platform which was a good move.

Cons

Worst management you could imagine. If you want to be under appreciated, ignored, under valued and talked down to then the support team is where you want to be. They are more than willing to interfere with your career path to keep their numbers up. You are a number to them. that's all. They will pile more and more onto your plate all while asking you to do it for no compensation. Title changes are just title changes with not compensation either. Sure they have a nice office and cool toys but nothing can relieve you of the daily barrage from the upper management. They will ask for your opinion on something and once you provide it, they will spend 20 minutes to tell you why you're wrong and they are right. Getting away from this office was the best career choice I have ever made. Both mentally and financially.
