      Pros

      Paul Bonner is a great leader and everyone in an upper management role fosters a team environment. There was also a lot of professional development at all levels. Very supportive of upward growth within the department.

      Cons

      The leadership of the firm is an environment where a small group of partners make decisions across the partnership. This isn’t unusual in a firm environment but it did create red tape environments frequently. However, I found that HR takes issues very seriously and it felt like a safer environment than other firms.

      Pros

      Great people to work with, work ebbs and flows, and HR always has events/gives us gifts.

      Cons

      Not enough assistants, so you'll be working in numerous practice groups. High turnover, so sometimes long-term projects get dropped. Venable LLP is expanding into different markets, so they are cutting costs by not investing in support staff.
