Merit increases of 3% or under is all any sub-management associate can expect to see on an annual basis regardless of the work put in. Overtime is mandatory on occassion. Role responsibilities will increase or change completely from the original job description as needs arise, to meet department needs, while pay remains the same. Some senior management members play a "hands-off" role and assume associates will, "work out", personal differences and only get involved if HR is alerted or threatened to be brought in. Cliques of long-term associates form based out of necessity as high turnover surges appear and makes it hard to break professional barriers at times. Favoritism seems to be a factor in compensation when available, which is rare. Poor attempts to stay current on technological trends or more efficient software on better hardware, create a barrier between clients and associates.
