Pros

The benefits are the best reason to work for this company. Paid time off is always good, decent Medical, Dental, and Vision plan, They also match 401k up to 4 or 5%.

Cons

They say the promote from within, however, all I have seen in the past 2 years are lateral moves. In the past several months, all of their promotions have stopped, and now for most of the call types there is a hiring freeze, unless you want to work on the Bank of America line. They are HC's #1 client, and it seems here lately all of our other clients have taken a backseat to B of A. I would reccomend to anyone looking for work in a call center in San Antonio, TX to keep looking.

Pros

Harland offers standard benefits, a clean working environment, and for the most part, friendly people. You get most weekends off, and nine holidays a year.

Cons

Harland hires as cheaply as possible, which means working with many recent immigrants with severe language barriers. I have yet to see anyone dismissed for incompetence. Company talks a good game about caring for employees but they really don't. Ex. closing profitable plants to consolidate and squeeze a little more out for executive bonuses. Freezing pay while company is turning a strong profit and blaming it on the economy.

Pros

You have a great team of people working there that care about the mission. They usually only hire top talent in the field. Overall, excellent benefits compared to other companies around town.

Cons

Work/Life balance is non-existent. Deadlines are often unrealistic and any deviation from a plan is frowned upon by senior management. Sales force is not held accountable for bogus projections causing a lot of wasted work and effort into projects. It's the check industry, need I say more? Procurement department sucks the life out of all projects and innovation.
