      Plenty of talent mid-level but SLT relies on VP know-nothings who say what is p.c. in order to keep their cushy jobs.

      Pros

      Decent pay. Good benefits. Easy work.

      Cons

      No future for new employees in an industry that is declining rapidly. Plants will continue to consolidate each year and corporate staffs must also downsize proportionally in order to keep the bean-counters happy. Old-timers have targets on their backs.

      Good place to work; for low pay and little to no tools

      Pros

      It's not a stressful atmosphere. The company absolutely believes in a work/life balance. There's always plenty to do. People are rewarded with praise and recognition for "going the extra mile". Some employees are offered flexible work schedules.

      Cons

      We don't have the most up to date technology nor any plans to upgrade. More emphasis is given to the Internet/distributed applications with the mainframe applications going unconsidered. It's sad because all the information is stored on the mainframe. It would behoove the company to spend money rearchitecting the mainframe applications and databases to make the data easier to access.

      Pros

      1. Management works well with staff. 2. Personal staff needs are given priority by management. 3. Leadership does provide significant information to staff. 4. Good medical benefits.

      Cons

      1. Some areas have poor advancement opportunities. 2. Confusing bonus plan. You have a potential percent, but never make it. To only get 50% of it is the norm. This is due to ridiculous goals. 3. Only matches up to 3% to the 401k. 4. Many areas of the company must work a large number of hours a week.
