Not what it once was

Pros

The people are great. There are a number of incredibly talented people working at Valassis who make coming to work worthwhile. The ability to work at home is a true gift and it's what's kept me here so long.

Cons

Most of the high level talent has been gutted through the last two acquisitions. There's a general sense of doom - not 'if' the company will need to sell off another piece, but 'when.'

Pros

I have been with Valassis over 15 years and continue to love working for the company. The company and leadership continue to invest in their people by encouraging career growth and promoting opportunities withing the organization. What makes Valassis great is the people and culture. It is easy to find the negative in any organization, but the associates hired at Valassis are passionate about the business and truly care about their teammates. You will see in reviews that it is not the same as it used to be, which is why Valassis is still a billion dollar company. The company continues to evolve with the ever changing needs of their clients. Some other positives of the company is the recognition plans they have for all associates throughout the year in addition to the fun events the company hosts... such as leaving work early to go on the Detroit princess cruise, Dave and Busters, Track and Field Day and other event throughout the year. The work life balance is also very important to the culture and much appreciated by the associates. They offer the ability to WFH and flex your schedule.

Cons

Systems, the company is in the process of updating systems, however with the complexity of the business it will take time to implement.
