Dream Job

Pros

If you are looking for a company that cares about you and encourages a work-life balance this is it. I have been working at Verified First for a little over 2 years now and it's still my dream job. I couldn't have asked for a better team or manager.

Cons

Pay could be better but benefits and flexibility balance it out in my opinion.

Used to be a dream company

Pros

VF was a great place to start a new career. Pre-Covid, the office culture was great. There was some “tough love” sprinkled in that I think a lot of companies lack these days, but it was appreciated there. There was a lot to learn to start and it was fun to see the explosive growth. Benefits were great, pay was horrible.

Cons

Towards the end and during the times of Covid, the culture took a big hit. Departments were very disconnected and there was little effort to bring everyone together again. In place of the annual Christmas party that we used to have in person was a one-hour virtual lunch party where we sat and watched an awards ceremony, and then promptly returned to work. I get that it’s tough to keep the connections alive in a remote world but there was so much more that could have been done. Recognition went out the window as well. VF starting caring way more about micromanaging employees and demanding results more than they cared about the humans that kept the company afloat when the pandemic first hit. Now, new people are onboarded and are quickly realizing that the workload severely outweighs compensation and expectations far exceeded what is mentioned in interviews and JD’s. They tell you it’s a great entry level position but when you get in the seat, they are asking for results before you get proper training.

A Remote Family

Pros

Even though 99% of their employees are remote, Verified First does an amazing job making us feel like are working in the office. Every Monday, the company does a "Monday Morning Moto" to motivate us for the week and it's so nice to put faces to names. Supervisors are extremely support and understanding. VF has team chats to use for support with questions. VF has an awesome open door policy and is very accepting of feedback and suggestions.

Cons

While VF does pay 100% of the employee's health insurance premium, the deductible is high. Starting pay is lower than I expected, however the "inclusive" environment is way more valuable.

Thanks for your positive review, and we're excited to hear that you've found your "forever employer!" We are always looking for new ways for our employees to connect while still being remote and living in different states. Even though VF pays 100% of the insurance premium, we agree that the deductible is higher than we would like it to be. As a creative solution in 2022, VF implemented a "deductible buy-down" that reduces the deductible by $1,500, and is no cost to the employee. We'll continue to be open to new ideas, so keep the suggestions coming!
