Towards the end and during the times of Covid, the culture took a big hit. Departments were very disconnected and there was little effort to bring everyone together again. In place of the annual Christmas party that we used to have in person was a one-hour virtual lunch party where we sat and watched an awards ceremony, and then promptly returned to work. I get that it’s tough to keep the connections alive in a remote world but there was so much more that could have been done. Recognition went out the window as well. VF starting caring way more about micromanaging employees and demanding results more than they cared about the humans that kept the company afloat when the pandemic first hit.
Now, new people are onboarded and are quickly realizing that the workload severely outweighs compensation and expectations far exceeded what is mentioned in interviews and JD’s. They tell you it’s a great entry level position but when you get in the seat, they are asking for results before you get proper training.
