Pros

Work pace is slow, and therefore, plenty of work-life balance. Travel spending budget is quite generous.

Cons

Very slow to adopt new trends in technologies, as a result, letting competitors eating not just its lunch, but also dinner and breakfast! Product management team is all talks. Verint combatting strategy is simply to publish bunch of emptied tech blogs and promises. New exec leadership style is manage by fears and acting like kings. Transparency is a myth even though it is part of its 5 values.

Pros

Ok benefits for Spokane, good location. It would be a good job for local people who have no serious career goal in mind. If you are on a core software team, you might get more out of it, but you might find it challenging to change anything there. If you are on a specific product delivery team, then you are nothing more but an implementation guy.

Cons

The company was sold and it is trying to proove to headquarters that sale was justified. They have had a high turn over. There are multiple reasons for turn over. The underlying technology is old like 10 years old. The management is milking every dime from old solutions. They acknowledge issues, but don't have any plans to improve, because they have their delivery goals on per customer basis. They do scrum, but it is not scrum. They have project management, but it varies depending on a specific project manager. You will be assigned a product with old code base and no help whatsoever. Good luck. It is a good place to get paid while you are looking for a real job. Don't stay any longer than you need to find a replacement.

Pros

Pay and benefits are good. There is some flexibility to work from home.

Cons

During the interview process, Verint appeared to be a great career opportunity. My direct manager was one of the worst leaders I have ever worked for. Incapable of leading the team, providing direction or doing much of anything beyond kissing up to senior management. Within senior management, there was a consistent turnover every 2 years. Job cuts were very common. Expect to be overworked. After hours and weekend work is expected. Don't expect any real plan, objective or leadership beyond headcount reductions and a do more with less mentality.
