Pros

Very strong brand and reputation. Many customers can only buy Verisign

Cons

Management is very engineering oriented. Managers outside of engineering lack many of the skills needed to run a functional and growing organization. The lack of senior leadership leads to weak interviews and hiring of poorly qualified candidates. Many people there waste hours at a time doing personal things rather than working. It's frustrating for a salesperson because there are missed opportunities every day.

Pros

The core business is very solid, and therefore the company is stable. They company generates cash, but seems unsure on how to invest it to achieve growth.

Cons

Strategy to launch new, large-scale media businesses failed while I was at the company. The shift in focus caused turmoil within the company, and distracted from developing attainable growth strategies. Additionally, the culture at VeriSign is difficult because it has grown primarily through acquisition. It is difficult to define a company wide strategy as a new employee, so you don't know what the ultimate goal is.

Pros

Cutting edge technology. Global experience. Excellent Medical coverage. excellent ESPP plan. overall very good benefits. If you are located in the Mountain View, Ca or Dulles, VA locations, lot of oppurtunities to job around and try to work in different groups and product.

Cons

Although a Mid size company, has a large cap atmosphere. Hence sometimes getting access to people to help out is tough. The network and security group, which affects a lot of projects, has its own mysterious way of working with its own protocol. Have to really know how the team works to get work out of the group.
