Pros

The salary is very competitive, the total compensation consists of salary, stock options and restrictive shares, bonus, and ESPP. All of which is generous and the ESPP is the best around. There are some very good people who work for Verisign as well.

Cons

This is a very unsatisfactory company to work for from a personal satisfaction point of view. Positive feedback is rare and the company management has many ways to communicate that you are lucky to work here and the company could do much better if you left. Very little job satisfaction. Most employees that leave involuntary take a bit of time to get their heads back straight.

Pros

Established company that is positioned well in relevant fields. Lots of potential in international areas if the company can get their act together. Finally gotten rid of lots of dead weight (employees). The company is trying not to be everything to all people which is good.

Cons

Lack of real innovation. To beholden to business buzz words. Too bad that VeriSign has wasted so much money on acquisitions and real estate and other failed things. People do make a difference in the company but that is not evident in policy. Need to inspire employees and invest in the future.

Pros

We serve a set of core problems that few companies can touch in scale or impact, so the work is always relevant and exciting. We deliver services that are central to allowing customers, worldwide, to transact (message, call, browse, etc.). We are always keeping a step ahead of emerging technologies and services to ensure that they work well between all carriers and customers.

Cons

Currently, HUGE spin-off and reorganization, so that the future is very uncertain and several businesses are being broken up and sold off. VeriSign is selling off 12 of its 15 current business units. The M&A cycle (like credit market in the US) went too far in one direction, and now VeriSign is getting back to their knitting ... and nothing else.
