Pros

Always something new to learn. Wonderful co-people to work with. Moral used to be very low a few years ago but they employees have, over the years, stepped up with permission to create fun holiday gatherings for their departments outside of the company holiday party. Family gatherings are discouraged in the corporate office. Great learning experience to spring board for greater opportunity.

Cons

Not enough people to share the work load, no time for family. Although they boast to be family oriented, it is just the opposite. Company is better suited for single people or people with older children. When you need to pick up children from school at night and cannot always stay, they don't say anything but you are penalized during the review period. But they don't notice when you are their during the closing processes, or during crucial times. But they do recognize some, but not everyone. Rewards are based on management temperament.

Pros

The ability to work from home.

Cons

Lack of career growth potential. Verisk Marketing Solutions recently cut 10% of the workforce due to missing revenue targets by a mile.

Pros

Verisk has a lot of good things going for it, both in terms of internal resources and its products. The focus on DEI is very strong and the employee networks seem well-run. Pay is pretty competitive.

Cons

This is the most exclusionary, cliquish workplace I have ever encountered. Rules are enforced unevenly, "outsiders" are treated unfairly, and sometimes work-related information is withheld from people who aren't in the "in group." The fact that many in leadership not only buy into but reinforce this favoritism is extremely frustrating. Also, in my time at Verisk I've seen a number of small layoffs and a bunch of people who are managed out of the company. This may not be a good place to look for long-term stability and growth.
