Verisk has a team of humble and hardworking people. For an organization with over 8k employees, it is still easy to build relationships with key leaders. Verisk's decision to re-focus on the insurance industry has led to significant growth, which directly benefits employees and customers.

Cons

Verisk remains consistent and does not over-hire as many tech companies do. This has allowed Verisk to avoid massive layoffs. With leaner teams, there can be a heavy workload at times and career growth takes patience - but the stability and culture easily make this the best company I have ever worked for.

Friendly workforce and good salary. Career progress depends on your manager and vertical

Cons

Previous CEO (Scott Stephenson) was very good. Always focused on organic growth by investment into Data Science and similar disciplines. New CEO is a finance/Wall Street guy. All decisions are to keep investors happy = restructuring all teams + cutting investment into all new data science/analytics verticals. Focus is purely on insurance business which is their cash cow.

Great learning environment. No overtime work, hybrid work in 2024.

Cons

There is no career structure in tech. As a developer I do full stack, QA, UI Design, I design and control the cloud resources covering the our products, database management, etc. As a developer you handle all things tech. I got hired as a base developer, and after 5+ I have the same title. There is no career growth, and I was shut down when I mentioned a title raise.
