Pros

I wrote the review about this company being outstanding and that the Rails team was a decent team to work on. Since Glassdoor doesn't allow me to edit my review, I'm adding another one to update everyone on my opinions of the company now that I've been here 6 months. There are no pros.

Cons

One of the owner's of the company is completely disengaged, and the other owner is schizophrenic, and neither have a clue as to how to run a software company. The Rails team is filled with petty, backstabbing sycophants, and management encourages that behavior. There is no trust anywhere in the organization and I fully expect it to continue to fall apart. If you're a Rails or Python developer, there are very few worse places you could choose to hitch your career. If I could give one piece of advice, it would be to run. I did.

Not Great

Pros

Decent pay if you can make it into the right department.

Cons

Benefits aren’t great. CEO Charlie is sexist. When asked about paid maternity leave, he stated it wouldn’t be fair to implement a benefit that doesn’t “apply to everyone.” No bereavement leave. Pay is terrible for entry level employees.

Hello there. We want to point out that starting in 2024, we do have paid maternity leave. We have a very generous PTO policy at Verisys, where everyone has 18 days off in a year plus 11 holidays. Bereavement is included in our PTO policy, and we have always helped our employees when they haven't had enough PTO when there is the loss of a parent, spouse, child, or biological grandparent. I hope this helps you see the other side of the picture. We always want to improve things at Verisys, and this is one of the improvements we have made with paid maternity based on our people's feedback.
