Pros

The reach of company is awesome. You have so many resources to find a way to provide a solution to an account or application that if done right this company can dominant.

Cons

Top heavy. There are so many middle mangers that even the simplest process are ruined by a middle manger asking 25 questions. The change in sales pay structure and the pinching in pennies is going to cause a large amount of young talent to go elsewhere.

Thanks for the candid review. We appreciate the advice, which falls in line with the long-term strategy and journey trajectory for Veritiv. The industry has changed and continues to change in many ways and is rapidly becoming something different than it has been for more than a century. Veritiv, which is a publicly traded company and a Fortune 500 business, must change to maintain its leadership position. Thanks for your service and your suggestions.

Pros

Good company to work for Understands family values Strong emphasis on safety

Cons

Communication is not a high priority between upper management (Castle on the Hill) and laborers/office staff (The Little Guy)...seems like they are trying and just as quickly it falls to the wayside again

Thanks for the candid review and your analogy. Communication is actually a very high priority as part of the Veritiv Values of People Commitment and One Team. From your perspective, we must do more. I do hope you check out Veritiv's intranet and especially the biweekly Veritiv Voice, our newsletter that regular features "The Little Guys," as you put it. We are always working harder to improve communication to keep everyone connected and informed of strategies and priorities.

Pros

There are some good people there - although very frustrated as the company makes decisions based on an excel spreadsheet and not the customers or future of employees.

Cons

Xpedx and Unisource merged to create Veritiv 5 years ago. This was an exit strategy by International Paper and Bain Capitol to unload their investment in each company. They are trying to time the selling of shares of Veritiv stock to unload their investment. Management is not open to ideas or culture or the future. They don't invest in advertising or internet visibility. They do not value expertise or product knowledge of their sales reps. They only care about squeezing one more penny out of the spreadsheet. They do not realize that the sales team is who gave them the numbers to play with on the spreadsheet in the first place. Are you a good sales rep? Are you a good customer service rep? Are you a good warehouse worker? Find a company that is looking forward more then just the next 2 years - you will probably find a company with a better culture and outlook.
