Pros

Well, you get to work for a company that has good name recognition.

Cons

They have a lot of contractors, some of which never make it to the employee stage. My PC IT guy was great, but after five years, they never did him the honor of giving him some semblance of security or benefits. They are tight, and tend to run the company like a mom-and-pop store, with lots of oversight from above. They make a great deal about their customer service rep going the extra mile for customers, but they don't treat their employees the same way.

Pros

Verizon Wireless does use cutting edge technology for their application development. People working there are very nice. salary is competitive.

Cons

Projects seemed to be understaffed. You may need to work 10+ hour days consistently and possibly weekends to meet the deadline. Many departments are like this too.
