      Pros

      Great people who are doing good work and succeeding at what they are doing. It's good to be a part of a successful project and company.

      Cons

      Very bureaucratic, occassionally top-heavy, very political. that's probably true of all big companies but it's especially true at Verizon. Often times personalities and politics get in the way of projects.

      Pros

      I enjoyed working at Verizon because the salary is good, I was able to balance work and family, great benefits I had opportunities for growth and career opportunities.

      Cons

      I worked with the company for over the 13 years and due to the excessive downsizing it has become a depressing environment to work in. Every couple of months you had to worry about losing your job, it becomes VERY depressing. Your peers become very weird and competitive and not in a good way, and you can become paranoid thinking everyone wants to take your job. Even with your bosses, I have seen some EXCELLENT people walk out the door because their boss was threatened by their performance and considered them a threat to their job so they would tell senior level management to RIF them, you would see alliances being formed to sabotage others performance, the culture has become very ugly. It was a good run but I am glad to be gone.

      It was a definite climb up the corporate ladder, but all in all am happy with my work.

      Pros

      Great compensation and plenty of resources for help or feedback. I enjoyed the events we were part of.

      Cons

      Sometimes it was easy to get caught in the mix and not get recognized for a job well done. Also, the overshadow of bigger markets took away from working in a smaller one.
