Pros

Very clean, comfortable work environment. Access to new and upcoming cell phone technology. Employee discounted service plans. Excellent tuition reimbursement program.

Cons

Speed is emphasized greatly over almost every other metric. Unfortunately remotely diagnosing cell phone problems with a person who is not an expert can sometimes lead to some very long calls which will damage your stats. There is very little communication between the call center and the network technician whom you create trouble tickets for. Hands can be tied when it comes to trying to save a customer. Very little opportunity for advancement out of the call center and into another department.

Pros

Verizon Communications is a Telco that is a solid company with a healthy balance sheet and a great product in FiOS TV. They have excellent salary and bonus plans, decent benefits and people generally work hard. Ivan Seidenberg is an excellent visionary leader as CEO

Cons

Despite a long history of excellent performance, the recent trend for Verizon is one of desperation. Margins are shrinking more than anyone would like. Ivan Seidenberg looks to be retiring in 2 years or less. The middle executives are terrible at communicatine, believing in their people and all are in the mode of "protect your own and help this thing last a couple more years so I can retire". They haven't hired new management employees in too many years, so the workforce is too old and afraid of risk. It's a bad trend for the mid-term future.

Pros

They have excellent pay and benefits.

Cons

Management treats employees terribly with constant threats of unpaid suspensions and other work restrictions such as overtime suspension based on some factors that are completely out of the employee's control.
