Pros

Good benefits. Low health care premiums.

Cons

Zero Leadership from Senior Management. Each Region seemed disconnected from the Corporate Mission. Each region created their own set of operating standards and never stayed consistent with the company message. After the Alltel merger, I believed in the company credo until I noticed their CREDO never left the paper it was printed on. Most stores ran like a high school without adult supervision. Retail employees were more concerned with playing with each other than serving the customers. It was accepted to make customers wait for hours and without apology treat them as if the rep was doing them a favor. SAD.

Pros

-great health benefits -above average pay compared to competitors -401 match (up to 6%) -yearly bonus -market leader -quality training

Cons

-call center atmosphere not for everybody -must take 60+ calls a day which means your held to very very tight time restrictions. -every call scored is based on a "conversation roadmap" (loose scripting) and depending on who is grading your calls, they can make or break you. -must adhere to very strict guidelines with regards to saving customers from canceling service, retaining and adding lines of service, average handling time on calls, amount of time customers can be on hold, amount of transfers you initiate to other departments.

Pros

Verizon is working to expand their managed portfolio at a much faster rate than competitors. Their automation tools are far superior as well.

Cons

There was no clear direction as to where the company is headed technologically or financially. The company continuously reorganizes which brings great uncertainty. It's restructured groups in the Philippines is not making much of an impact as they continue to cut. The company is now cutting into its money making arms which could potentially bring future success to its knees. Sr. Management is trying to formulate a plan but so far, the plan is simply to cut more people. The company lacks focus on developing quality, standardized, and marketable solutions because they're trying to impact the bottom line but in so doing, they've begun to undermine the entire process. I predict a brain-drain on the company in the upcoming months and years.
