Pros

Good benefits package that starts on day 1 of employment. Employee discount for services. Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for many situations such as, Tuition Reimbursement, Counseling Services, etc...

Cons

Little to no raises over the past 2 years for all employees. Higher than reasonable quota expectations. Regular additions to expected duties with no additional compensation, (More work, no additional pay!) Increasing Micro-Management across the board. Regularly laying off US positions and sending them to other countries where the new employees hav little to no training, resources, or ability to properly take care of Verizon customers, which in-turn throws more back on the US employees that have to fix the mistakes and inadequacy's of the 3rd party replacements for the layoffs... An overall general disconnection of Upper Management and its expectations of employees as well as from real world.

Pros

Time off is quite nice and you can take advantage of their broken system. Depending on your store management will help you out in a proper way if they are trained correctly. The core ethics of Verizon are good but most management and even senior managers do not follow that. The benefits are the only thing that's guaranteed to you and are nice.

Cons

The pay is not that competitive in 2024 for a sales position. The commission check that you receive even after hitting 120% of sales goal a month is somewhat comical in comparison to other sales jobs. Diversity is a unique topic within Verizon and it's management. Management is a current mess with so many layers of management that do close to nothing for each other. Most of the time just sitting on calls in the back not helping their floor. It is smoke and mirrors most of the time with a pinch of gaslighting. Verizon is currently unsure on what position they want to take with their business, swapping between too many metrics and not giving appropriate pay for all the "features" and "perks" they want employees to sell. In a sales starter position when you are getting hired you are told that you have opportunity to move up within Verizon and this is close to a flat out lie. I have been with Verizon for years now and have only seen a couple people get promoted into a management role. To move within Verizon laterally from sales it is very rare you can move unless you have been or are a sales manager within Verizon. Customer service over the phone is an absolute joke.
