Pros

The benefits are what keeps most people here even though they are miserable. The pay was great until they changed the commission structure, now it is hard to even hit 100% and rare to ever go over it anymore. I keep making less each year even after the 2-3% raise I earn each year. Yet people that are hired from outside the company are starting off making more than people that have been with the company for more than 5 years. It does not make any sense. There is no type of senority just who likes who and not how hard you work. There are clicks even in upper management. This is not a company for you if you do not know how to kiss and bull your way to the top.

Cons

Senior management promotes brown nosers and not people that truly work their tails off for the company. employees that are loyal just get craped on.

Pros

The best reasons to work for Cellco are the benefits, Human Resources support, salaries, and overall training. It is an interesting opportunity in that every team member has an opportunity to succeed as well as work in tandem for success. The quality of the products and services are excellent. Employees are encouraged to understand all new services and technology in order to become the best possible advocate. The training reinforces the importance of the brand as well as the belief it is possible to sale to anyone with the right questions and guidance. Cellco offers a great 401k program, great health care and tuition reimbursement. The training and orientation is excellent.

Cons

The downsides are contingent on where you are in terms of your life. If you have a growing family, the needs of the business are primarily on the weekend and evening hours. This can put a strain on family responsibilities as well as participation in life's events. it is important to note commissions can be a pressure driver in this business. If you are in a location where foot traffic is low, there is a greater chance of employee losing their unity as each individual works to attain his or her goal. The team effort can be lost and it is incumbent upon managers to foster team work.

Pros

The pay for a retail employee is very good. Adjustments to salary were made periodically to keep Verizon competative.

Cons

Very sales driven environment that demands your full attention. Interpretation of company's rules do not take circumstance into consideration often favoring the safety of the corporation not the employee. You are expendable and a commodity. Promotions can be a very political issue and not necessarily due to you based on performance. Very few opportunities for a retail employee to move to a corporate job so succession is limited. You are given a cell phone, a blackberry, a laptop and aircard so that you will be accountable for anything at anytime regardless of whats going on in your own life.
