Pros

Strong ESOP/retirement - company value has increased pretty much EVERY year All employees receive communication about company direction, new projects, finances, etc. There are regular meetings, mailings, and collaboration intranet pages to keep everyone informed. IT department responds quickly to issues, keep employees outfitted with fast, newer laptops, and provide plenty of training to avoid viruses and phishing issues. Fun team builders such as ski club, hiking club, book club, pickleball, street hockey, walking meetings, etc. Cafe on site with tasty, healthy options for breakfast, lunch, and snacks. High-quality, locally roasted coffee available all day (grinder, coffehouse-quality brewer, airpots). Hybrid on-site/work-from-home schedules, low cost preschool on site. Cross-team pollination happens a lot; teams and people do not work in a vacuum, Fresh local bagels on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Cons

Entry-level position pay may seem low. Total compensation with benefits, ESOP, and perks are very, very competitive though. Open office cubicles can be noisy at times, although they do allow for easy quick collaborations.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this thoughtful feedback. We are so glad to hear that you appreciate VIP’s open communication and collaborative efforts, team building activities and office perks! We’re really proud of the advancements we’ve made in the last few years with our New Hire Orientation program, our “Friday Shoutout” emails, our new Intranet space, etc and it’s wonderful to hear that they have been well-received. We also love to hear a callout to the ESOP (our Employee Stock Ownership Program), and definitely agree that the company contribution in addition to our health and lifestyle benefits make our total compensation package extremely competitive. We also really appreciate the advice with regard to newer employees. We know there’s a lot to learn in the first year and it can feel overwhelming at times, but we want everyone to feel like they can participate in our culture and enjoy all of the benefits that make for that healthy work/life balance, from day one and throughout every step of their journey at VIP.
