Pros

You get your hours, centers are in nice towns they’re clean. Great for getting experience to take your exam & learning how to draw blood. Then get the hell out

Cons

Not enough pay, your team leaders have this power trip over you if they think you aren’t kissing their butts enough & try to embarrass you in front of donors on the floor-and get away with it. But trust me you never will.

Pros

The negativity the last year and a half has overshadowed anything good to say about what is now Versiti.

Cons

Money is the greedy driving force of Versiti executive leadership with disregard to realistic expectations of collections goals and the industry in general. The CEO didn’t even know when one state was critically low on blood! They have failed in learning the industry from the bottom up and therefore set unrealistic expectations and provide zero resources to even attempt to half way meet goals. There is no culture and the work environment has become very toxic due to the lack of respect of employees making suggestions or having opinions different from their own. There are successes and very knowledgeable team members outside of Wisconsin (HQ), but the ELC doesn’t want to hear or acknowledge anyone outside of their tiny Wisconsin bubble. What’s worse is that they have stolen the community feel away from organizations that have prided themselves on being the security of the community blood supply. Indiana Blood Center used to be an amazing place to work, driving its mission, goals and values first with its employees and then to the community. It is clear now that every day walking in to work employees are unhappy, stressed and miserable because of Versiti. Versiti has taken away everything from Indiana Blood Center- pride of its employees, dedication to the community and the most disheartening thing, the high disregard of the reason why we do what we do every day all for the sake of ELC giving themselves bonuses.

Pros

1. Company is growing rapidly - we now serve Wisconsin, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan and Ohio. 2. The non-profit mission is really inspiring, and services (organ and tissue procurement, blood collections, medical/physician services and research) are legitimately saving lives - which is exciting. 3. They really invest in their leaders - providing hours of training and support 4. My boss is awesome, she supports me, has my back and actively works to provide me with opportunities to grow and develop. I have not had this level of support in my career - and it's refreshing. 5. No meeting Mondays - put in place to help everyone get things done on Mondays without distraction. It seems small - but it's a nice perk. In WI HQ - We have free parking; a delux vending machine in the breakroom; and a fun location on Marquette University's campus right across the street from a Starbucks and other restaurants.

Cons

Growing pains - - Some employees (especially people that have worked here for a long time) are struggling with rapid growth and change and can be vocal. - New work added but resources remain the same. This can be frustrating to know priorities. - We have outgrown our HQ! Space is limited, and departments aren't always able to sit together. HR is working to better define career paths at the company - once complete, that will be useful for employees just starting out to better understand how they can grow - b/c that's not always clear.
