Pros

The company is growing fast. Even though the tech stack is a little out-of-date, the management is aware and making efforts to catch with the latest trends. The 401k was added recently. Good work-life balance and remote working policy.

Cons

The pay is below the average on the market. Compared to other startups, the stock options are not decent enough to attract and keep talented engineers.

Pros

Little micro management on the implementation team Good Communication from senior management Flexible work hours and work from home available for many roles A promise to go public.

Cons

Implementation team consists of old management, managers grandfathered into management by length of employment. Not the best way to pick the management team. Most are unqualified, unfamiliar and unwilling to learn new technologies. Team management doesn't share knowledge or provide training to team members on the tools available and used by the rest of the organization for data analysis. At Vestmark the implementation team is 3 times larger than the production support team, many typical responsibilities for production support fall under under the implementation team. This seems due to the complex implementation onto the platform, clients are in the implementation phase for 3+ years still after production go live. A MAJOR CON for anyone thinking of joining Vestmark implementation - there are no 2nd or 3rd shifts on the implementation team. Everyone is expected to be in the office during business hours (when the stock market is opened). This mean allot of overtime as most day to day implementation tasks can only be implemented outside live stock trading hours ALSO be aware that issues requiring IMMEDIATE attention occur throughout the client base overnight and on the weekends regularly as thats when data is received and loaded in the application. After hours issues are routed DIRECTLY to the clients implementation lead so all members of the team are expected to be available 24x7 and respond to issues immediately. Implementation team members ARE NOT compensated for being on call 24x7..
