Pros

Decent pay and company benefits

Cons

Late compensation Lack of promotions Nepotism Greedy managers Not enough characters or TIME to list Company is “lead” and I use the term VERY loosely by greedy upper managers. In twelve years the CEO, Brian Oliver has addressed the company on an all hands call only ONCE. His president, Jeff Haidinger has had 2 calls. They spend more time dealing with the investors and finding ways to squeeze more copper out of a penny. They have never attempted to host national or regional meetings with any groups other than the sales team. The remaining “managers” manage by fear and intimidation. Cronyism and nepotism run rampant within the management staff. Silos are built throughout the organization and company policies are thrown by the wayside in lieu of regional policies. When needed, managers make up new undocumented polices as a matter of convenience. Compensation and annual reviews with monetary increases are delayed to a point of being ridiculous. Year-end annual reviews and payouts are distributed in March. The company implements an MBO process (which can be debated on its own merits) for evaluating employees. The MBOs which are annually evaluated are seldom delivered on time and usually presented to employees in the 3rd quarter and are designed to penalize rather than promote. The language is structured in a way to tell the employee what they are at risk of losing if the goal is not met instead of how they can become better employees. When looking at problems to be resolved the organization would rather look at who they can throw under the bus. Mangers within the company seem to have an US versus THEM mentality rather than working cross-section-ally with their peers in other departments. The only teamwork seems to be worked at the top of the organization and collaborated in getting each other promoted to the next level. Advancement and recognition doesn’t seem to filter down below upper management. Experience and educations appear to be overlooked for the sake of promoting and or hiring relatives and friends.

Pros

- Make the right friends in the right departments and your continued employment is secured - Products and installations are not funded by tax dollars

Cons

- Leadership doesn't know how to lead - No modern era technologies or methods because most teams do not understand them and fear change - Bullying tactics and jockeying for position - Innovations usually happen if it means taking more money from the customer base - Benefits are not competitive and come with out of pocket costs or additional hoops to jump through

Pros

- Transit Discount - Work From Home once a week

Cons

Management and CEO have no idea what they are doing. Aquired company in Silicon Valley to increase investments only. CEO claim to value the innovation of employees and their technical skills; however, laid off innovators and leaders after acquisition to save a very small percentage in salary budget. - No salary raises - Pay out of pocket for healthcare - East Coast management rarely visits offices - Management makes non emergency calls and emails during the weekends at 5am Pacific time. And contacts you during sick leave.
