Pros

-Used to be a bit better a couple years ago, but pressure from starlink and viasat3 failure are present. -Aviation - good foot-in-the door experience for industry.

Cons

-My time at CSC formerly known as MCC. I watched about 40-50 people get hired and 90% of those people wouldn't last 6 months on average. So very low retention rate. With 10-15 members max at one time. Also, never saw any career advancement from any CSC member, only promotions to "lead" which meant more work, less pay(no OT) and still running shift by yourself. -My time here I was held responsible to go above and beyond above regular call center duties to become technical enough to fix software issues that no one else could. "Just fix it, it needs to be fixed now". But in the end, wasn't respected for my knowledge and efforts and was told we don't respect "technical" just "leadership skills" when leadership skills has very little to do with troubleshooting aircraft... it was just a ploy.. -Watched people from other departments work very little but get very high respect, lots of applause and high pay. CSC has to carry the weight. -Good Ole boy club, very present. Can't even offer constructive criticism or improvements, without being deemed "negative" or "not a teamplayer" . -Viasat is a good place to work, good benefits and parties, but this almost makes it worse at CSC because you feel very singled out. -shift work, nightshift, weekends, holiday, run meetings while running call center. Remote troubleshooting in teamviewer( technically Field Supports responsibility but I had multiple a shift). -Carlsbad (hq) could be worst place to work. There's dedicated support operations setup across the world for different business departments and high priority airlines, all considered CSC. Each dedicated op. promised to run 24/7 support but only have 1 to 2 people hired there. Which means, at Carlsbad after 5 o' clock, you start fielding calls for every business department(20+ airlines and counting), business aviation, maritime, land mobile) and you will be on shift by yourself and won't even receive a thank you. -Carlsbad/San Diego cost of living is really bad. San Diego is ranked #1 most expensive place to live. No addition compensation for the individuals that have to work in Carlsbad. -really could write a book here, but I'll save you the time..

Pros

Some very talented people work at Viasat.

Cons

Most mid and senior level managers have been promoted due to the level of their incompetence. The talent of worthwhile employees is not utilized or used as a weapon against them by incompetent supervisors. The company has lost it's edge and direction.

Pros

Lots of really talented employees trying their best

Cons

- Awful communications from Senior management. - Merger with Inmarsat is a mess. The self promoters are getting promotions irregardless of their business success. A VP with no proven track record at ViaSat just given Pres job when his specialty is partying with his favorite employees. Everyone knows it, but leadership ignores it because he is a good self promoter. - The once great culture caught COVID and died.
