Pros

upbeat atmosphere great gratis in-brand discounts joy of helping people find things that make them feel sexy/pretty in-store discount lots of hours available

Cons

on call! shrink suspicion angel card-- in a poor economy, no one wants to open a high APR credit card, even with the great perks we offer!! scheduling-- one week, I would have 34 hours (as a part time associate), then next I would have 2 or 3 on calls (with one call in) and 3 scheduled hours

Pros

Excellent ongoing training, lots of free products to try for personal testimony to clients, Beautiful products that you will sell with pride. 40 hour work week,so life work balance is manageable. Fast pace environment so your day moves by quickly. Clients love the store and will return, which creates an inimate, friendly relationship.

Cons

Limited floor coverage will exhaust you during peak selling periods. Excessive multi-tasking, High stress and pressure to achieve segment goals, especially with reagard to selling Angel Cards (credit). Excessive floor changes that require associates and managers to work long hours completing floor sets.

Pros

It's amazing how many people have posted negative responses to this company for things that I can't imagine any retail company would let you do. VS gives a great associate discount, extra discounts for the holidays, a ridiculous amount of free stuff and $15 bras...The managers at this branch are fantastic and do let your know when you're doing a good job. I'm sure that, as in all retail jobs, experience varies location to location, but this is a GREAT location! There is pressure to sell credit cards but you learn your own limits and some people are just not gonna be as pushy as others...and ultimately this store's not gonna fire you just because you haven't sold enough credit cards. There are many other things that make you a great employee, and they recognize those too.

Cons

Random days are blacked out so that you can't ask for them off, which can be kind of terrible and annoying, especially since employees aren't told about them in advance. Call-ins are awful, but my last job had them too so maybe I've just gotten used to it.
