Pros

It is a company that empowers their associates to take full ownership of the piece of the business they take part in. If you succeed its because of the hard work you put into it.

Cons

As with any retail enviroment the hours are long and sometimes draining. Its sometimes difficult to get the timoe off you want because their is always a big event right around the corner.

Pros

Flexible scheduling, very thorough training at the beginning, corporate sent lots of training manuals to update the stores throughout the year for new products and sales techniques. The discount was also a nice perk, 20% of any regularly priced merchandise.

Cons

The low pay, not much room for advancement, everything was directed from the coporate offices which didn't take into account the local atmosphere and customers. Store managers didn't seem interested in developing talent as long as the numbers were met.

Pros

I love working for Victoria's Secret. The company is very well organized with streamlined, efficient business operations. The company has a lot of brand power and has achieved success in commanding control in the industry. Victoria's Secret has trully established itself in a niche market and will not show any signs of declining any time soon. The brand itself exudes a lifestyle that makes any woman feel fabulous and appreciated every day. The company really stands behind every product they produce, and ensure that nothing is put out to the sales floor until it has reached perfection. Victoria's Secret really knows their products and their client base thoroughly, and is constantly seeking to improve the in-store client experience. The company treats their employees very well because they know we are their key to success. The company is also very generous with employee gratis and option to buy products. This allows associates to try the products for free or for a very low price to provide personal testimony to the clients.

Cons

The pay is not fantastic. Although it is pretty standard for a retail store, the wages are relatively low for standard of living. The company is very good about giving you very small incremental raises over long periods of time. However, it is not easy to earn performance based bonuses or pay increases which takes away from performance incentives. There is also not much opportunity for advancement. Within a given Victoria;s Secret store, the highest position is store manager. There are also district and regional managers etc., however there is very little opportunity for advancement within the company from the stores. More opportunities exist from Victoria's Secret Direct.
