Pros

I loved working at the Library. The students, full time staff, everyone was like a big family. Flexible with my class and exam schedule as well.

Cons

There are no cons. I would recommend everyone who is a student at Tech work for the library. The only con would be it took me a bit to get a raise.

Pros

Average experience compared to other research 1 institutions. There is an interesting startup culture, though the university tries very hard to own most of the IP. Work schedule is very lose and extremely easy to deal with.

Cons

Academic atmosphere is old-fashioned. The pay is very low, benefits are few, teaching and advising are practically non-existent.

Pros

Great benefits (leave, tuition remission) Collegial atmosphere - people care about one another

Cons

Low pay, little room for growth A lot of poor leadership at the director-level - a lot of alpha males Weak departmental resources for professional development Tendency to burnout due to weekend/evening work
