Pros

VTCRI is a dynamic up-and-coming research institute that investigates several research fields. On-the-job issues that arose were addressed quickly and efficiently and with impressive effort. The facility is nice and well-kept. PhD's are willing to share equipment and lab space in order to optimize research progress for the institute as a whole.

Cons

The different labs are mostly in one large open area and benches are continuous, so unless you have your own private lab space, it is difficult to completely isolate work areas from one research station to the other.
