Pros

Most people here are very nice and have a good work ethic. A good group of people to surround yourself with. The work is interesting and challenging enough.

Cons

Within seismic imaging you are learning a niche skillset that is tied to a cyclical industry. All tools you will use are in-house tools, nothing transferrable. No one is hired except grads in Crawley seismic imaging. Survivorship bias means the culture is one of people who stick around and hope for a promotion or a pay rise. Don't expect to negotiate anything, at least not for the first few years. Culture within seismic imaging Crawley shows very little resistance to unpaid overtime. Expect to average 37.5hr/wk if you are organised and good at prioritisation but also expect to occasionally go over 40. UK job security outside of the main functions (oil & gas services) is poor. The profit from the core functions is used to scattergun search for a business model outside of oil & gas but the vast majority of these fail.

Pros

In the early years, this was a great place to work with a strong culture, supportive leadership, and opportunities for growth. Talented and hardworking colleagues.

Cons

Over time, the culture shifted, and management dynamics made difficult to maintain the same level of engagement. Less open communication and increasing workplace friction

Pros

Good canteen, a variety of food to choose

Cons

The uk EDA is very political which discourages employees to work hard to achieve the common goal that is business success. Some of the directors both in UK and Norway are only good at talking rather than doing, they didn’t deliver but keeps talking about working smart using their buzzing words. Some of the employees who got their entire career through via playing politics and spreading rumors that are in their favor, toxic, and extremely toxic environment.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear about your negative experience with aspects of the team culture. At Viridien, we take these concerns seriously and fully recognize the importance of fostering a respectful, collaborative, and supportive work environment. We are actively working to strengthen communication and team dynamics across all our business lines. Within EDA, we are promoting open dialogue between HR and senior leadership through initiatives such as monthly all-hands meetings with opportunities for anonymous questions, as well as regular on-site visits from HR and senior management to stay closely connected with the team. These efforts reflect our broader commitment to transparency, accountability, and a culture that values action, collaboration, and integrity over internal politics. We appreciate your honest input and remain committed to building an inclusive, performance-driven workplace.
