Thank you for your review and for sharing your thoughts with us. Over the past several years, we have reviewed and enhanced our salary ranges to remain competitive while also balancing our mission-driven responsibilities as a nonprofit organization. Our benefits structure—including paid time off—has been designed to provide flexibility and consistency across roles, and we continue to evaluate it regularly based on employee feedback and evolving best practices. We’re proud of our open-door policy, which encourages everyone to share their thoughts and concerns, knowing they’ll be heard and addressed thoughtfully. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to your supervisor or Human Resources if you’d like to discuss further.

Pros

Strong Mission Dedicated Staff Wonderful Participants Commitment to Participants' Independence

Cons

Can be challenging to find time to collaborate with co-workers. Compensation is consistent with or slightly better than other similar CT non-profit organizations but the industry rates are still low.

Pros

-Rewarding work with amazing members

Cons

-Poor Pay -No raises -No positive reinforcement -Dead weight in Salaried positions -Management asks for feedback and actively uses it against employees -Company cannot cover agreed hours, ALWAYS running in a major deficit -Wealthy families are severely favored -Turnover is unmatched, cannot hold on to ANY full-timers -Benefits are terrible -Management is extremely self important -Zero room to move up, they will lie and twist job requirements -All strong, independent workers will be taken advantage of. It is the design of the organization -Zero diversity among staff and even less among members

At Vista, we are committed to creating a supportive and positive environment and take concerns about employee satisfaction seriously. Over the past three years, Vista has implemented a 29% increase for entry-level Life Skills Instructors and has offered performance-based bonuses, recognizing both contributions and longevity. We actively provide opportunities for promotions and career growth. In the past year alone, 10 employees have been promoted, and an additional 14 have pursued new career paths within the organization, enhancing their skills and broadening their horizons. Vista is also proud of our open-door policy, which encourages employees to voice their concerns, knowing that we are committed to addressing them thoughtfully and promptly. While we are not perfect, we are always working on improving our organization and the experience for all our team members.
