Pros

Vitalant does pay reasonably well, including training and overtime hours. A lot of the other phlebs are wonderful people to work with, and you will tend to have at least one weekday off regularly if you need to visit a doctor or dentist.

Cons

Imagine 20 different digital platforms with different logins you have to check each with distinct schedules. Now, imagine important updates are thrown at any random one of those, and if you forget even one of them, well that paperwork may have been assigned today, but it's due tomorrow so tough luck. I would literally have nightmares about forgetting to check one of the borderline hidden digital platforms. Sleep schedules are a thing of the past. 9-5 is outdated and it's more like 8-6 now right? Wrong. You'll need to show up at 5am one day and work until 10pm the next. It's like management took inspiration from retail clopens and thought, "y'know what would go great with this? 19.5 hour shifts!" Every day before a shift you have to call to confirm where you're going. It can be changed with little to no notice, and sometimes you'll simply be called the morning of. A short day is 10 hours. Working 12s a few days a week is one thing, but this is 5 days a week of 12 hour shifts with mandatory training outside of that. The pay, while nice, does not even begin to make up for how little a life you'll have.

Pros

None. Nothing positive to write about

Cons

The place is a terrible place to work. Mismanaged and poorly run. The company is in losses and trying to cut corners in everything. Severely under resources and the VP makes release commitments without checking with the QA team. This is the only company that I know that care more about their software vendor then their employees. Employees are underpaid and overworked and expected to work evenings and weekend. Not asked but expected. The VP seems to be in cahoots with the vendor probably some corrupt practices going on. The Director is clueless and blindly follows the VP. CTO is a absolute buffoon. Terrible benefits and time off policies. They force to use your PTO for day after thanksgiving!!! Terrible place avoid at all costs.

Pros

We draw blood (that's sold) for the hospital.

Cons

The company (BSI/ BONFILS) is more focused on money than its facade of "values". No one cares about the donor or recipient, they just want blood to sell to bolster their salary and bonuses. They are SEVERELY understaffed (down 50+ employees just in CO), forcing employees to drive all over the state and work 60+ hours/week.
