Pros
-Commission based sales. If you can sell and you work in a busy location you can make decent money, especially compared to the competition. -A lot of the customers are very nice and it's fun to help them out. Getting to know clientele was always my favorite part of the job.
Cons
-Low base pay. If you work in a slow store you're screwed. A ton of product knowledge is required and customers come in expecting you to be a doctor yet the pay does not match that expectation and there is NO opportunity for raises, none. "If you want a raise, sell more and give yourself a raise with your commission."- a response to a raise request. -Management threatens you if you do not reach mandated sales goals and it can be a high pressure, uncomfortable environment simply for minimum wage.
