Good company. No upward mobility.

Pros

The company offers a great benefits package including a good 401k match with profit sharing. Flexible schedules including work from home opportunities for many positions. Frequent activities throughout the year.

Cons

Far too many meetings. No real opportunities to move up for many levels in specific departments. "Casual days" are considered a perk.

Thank you for your review! First, I would like to say thank you for your 5 plus years of service. The dedication and hard work of our employees are always admired and respected at MedAmerica. As you mentioned, we do offer excellent benefits here at MedAmerica including but not limited to, our 401K plan, tuition reimbursement, and sick and vacation accrual. We pride ourselves on offering employees the option of working a flexible schedule whether it’s to help with their commute or attend to other obligations outside of the MedAmerica family. As MedAmerica grows, we continue to evaluate the career path for our employees. We launched a leadership academy last year to provide our employees with the tools and skills needed to grow professionally. In addition, our HR and Talent Acquisition teams have been working closely with our Leadership Team to design a career development program. If you are interested in moving forward in your career, we encourage you to reach out to your manager or a member of our HR or Talent Acquisition teams. We appreciate the feedback!

Pros

Training varies per hospital site, but the staff was respectful and had personality. My particular site was an awesome place to work in. The doctors truly appreciated the scribes' help with charting. If you're doing a gap year while applying for grad school, or looking for clinical experience, scribing is a great way to get paid and get those clinical hours. I can't say enough how much what I've seen has influenced my decision to apply to grad school.

Cons

none that I could think of.

Thank you for your review! It is great to hear you are enjoying your work at MedAmerica. You contribute directly to the success of our organization! Regarding professional growth opportunities, our HR and Talent Acquisition teams are working closely with our Leadership Team to design a career development program for our employees. We currently have a leadership academy that provides employees with the tools, skills, and resources needed to take the next step in their careers. Our goal is keep our employees up to date and to give them the tools needed for success. Our Knowledge Cafes focus on timely topics, like our strategic initiatives and efficiency at the workplace. The cafes also serve as an opportunity for employees to get to know each other as the company continues to grow. Also, our internal communication newsletter, “The Minute,” lists all the latest job openings and application information. We appreciate the feedback!
