Awful place to work

Pros

Great place to start coding if you just need experience.

Cons

Pay is massively below market average. The expectation is to have experience and a costly certification but pay is barely above minimum wage. All while leadership boasts of new contracts and record charges/collections. Favoritism and nepotism are rampant. There are spouses, children, and other family/friends hired. At least 2 instances of coding managers and their spouses are coders. Workload is chaotic to accommodate the multiple offshore coding companies brought in. Chart availability is prioritized to these coders as opposed to company employees. Stress level is off the charts. Expectations are to do more with less. Salaried employees have to work ridiculous hours to get work done and hourly employees have mandated OT for months at a time. No consequences for bad employees. No loyalty to longstanding employees. Wage caps prevent annual raises for some employees and there are no COLA raises ever.

Pros

As a medical scribe, you get a lot of experiences. You learn a lot. It's an amazing opportunity. You choose your own schedule and scheduling is extremely lenient.

Cons

The pay is low for what we do. You'll get paid more based on how long you've been with them. As a medical scribe you don't really get much benefits.
