Pros

The corporate culture is innovative and challenging. The average employee age is like 26 so it has a lot hope and enthusiasm for now.

Cons

The "Old Boys Club" mentality got in a way a lot of real progress being made. Just like anything growing there was an old culture that was fighting against the new blood.

Pros

It's a job. And you can wear anything you want. Which is why most of the kids here look like they are homeless.

Cons

In the Monitoring department all levels of "leadership" have no idea how to lead. If you talk to HR or Payroll about problems with your benefits or paycheck, they get mad and say "don't you trust us"? The bonus system is a joke. The way productivity is compared by shift, thus if you work at a low call volume time then you're unlikely to get lower bonus. They say they will look into how that's measured, but are either lying to you or just not smart enough to know what's wrong. Both in my opinion. Stay away from this department. They pretend to be a team, but the Manager and Director have no idea what they are doing. The "Director is not even in the building anymore. How can you lead people you're never around? You can't.

Pros

There is a lot of opportunity and I enjoy creating and having that autonomy. I am grateful to see this company grow and improve. We have a long way to go, but it's great to be a part of it and contribute in some way.

Cons

I pay both a high premium and a high deductable. Most companies have one or the other, but not both. Also, the time-off policy does not allow me to accure any sick leave. Most companies also increase the amount of P.T.O every year. At Vivint, you need to work here seven years before you accure more.
