Pros

Vivint is a very people driven company. They really value their employees and customers, treating everyone like family. They take care of you and offer a lot of great perks including free meals, fun events, giveaways, incentives, medical clinic, onsite basketball court, workout gym, ping pong tables, pool tables, sand volleyball, horseshoe pit, and unlimited fountain drinks. The environment is fun and driven. We work hard and play hard. Expectations for performance are high but that's why we are continually growing and becoming better.

Cons

Pains of growing so rapidly.

Pros

I have been able to learn a lot while working at Vivint. The people are great to work with. It is a fun work environment. There are many perks. The compensation is fair for the type of work I do.

Cons

The health benefits are expensive. They also don't match my 401k deductions.

Lots of Problems

Pros

The team I am on has provided me a lot of opportunities to learn and grow. There is free* lunch served every day. (* you get taxed for it, and currently there is not much choice. This is planned to change in the next year.)

Cons

Little to no schedule or work from home flexibility. Developers are not consulted before decisions are made, but always held responsible for the consequences. Would rather pay millions of dollars per year in licensing fees to replace the current system with a system that is not equivalent instead of investing a fraction of it to make the current system better. Poor communication between groups, from top to bottom and side to side. No development methodology. No change management control. No planning, only reacting. Free for all, chaotic, everything is broken panic mode mentality.
