Not worth it

Pros

Fairly fun and easy job, good healthcare benefits with a lot of time spent outdoors and at bars. Also feels like you are giving back because they have a kid's program that provides free youth sports.

Cons

Super toxic and clique-y culture from top to bottom and you will make absolutely no money. Seriously, it seems like the most important qualification to hire someone is how they fit the culture because most of the staff genuinely cannot do basic arithmetic. City leadership is lost on how to properly manage people so they only want to hire "yes-men". You need to turn your brain off to avoid having constant arguments with City Directors because they refuse to listen to new perspectives and ignore real issues as if they are outliers while manipulating their data to make it look positive. Even their free kid's program which is the only redeeming quality is torn down by city leadership who themselves admit do not care about the kid's programs. There is a reason that all of the 5 star reviews on google are either employees or family, while the negative reviews are actual customers. Also, their app which they say will never collect your data, will absolutely collect your data.

Not ready to grow

Pros

Their overall mission, to provide active and social experiences to adults and free sports programs to kids is commendable.

Cons

1. The company is dominated by people who have been there for many years and have very little work experience outside of the org. Unfortunately, they do not have the relevant experience to properly grow the company. 2. Management is so overworked but are unable to relinquish control of smaller day-to-day tasks in order to have time to focus on large strategic initiatives. 3. There is no accountability when it comes to the individual Managing Directors on a national level. The MDs openly defy the processes and rules implemented by the national team and there are no consequences. 4. The cliques make you feel like you are back in middle-school! If you have interests outside of Volo's product offering (sports and binge drinking) you will be made to feel like the outcast.

Pros

The product is decent. Offering various sports in multiple locations to give people the opportunity to make friends, exercise, and explore their community.

Cons

For a social sports company they were cliquey. They would talk about work/life balance but the unspoken rule was to be available at any time. Training and onboarding did not reflect what the actual role (which was still unclear). Unspoken high turnover rate.
