Pros

The folks that are there are all smart and truly want to work together as a team. Studio leadership has your back and wants to see you succeed. Work/Life balance.

Cons

The clients you'll work with have little to no budget, and it is very rare that you'll have a chance to onboard a new client, because Volusion is not an attractive platform for new merchants. Keeping client retention high is of utmost importance, but in many instances you may feel bad continuing to provide services for companies that have trouble affording them. There has also been a large exodus of workers over the past few years, which can be seen as a positive because if you're ambitious and want to take on new opportunities, there are plenty to take here. However, the team mostly feels chaotic and in disarray. Its possible that the department gets to a better place, but it's going to be a hard road for quite a while.

Pros

Some really nice people worked there.

Cons

Management was horrible, projects were changed on the whims of the exec team, and the company was going through bankruptcy. It wasn’t hard to see why either; projects were never completed or, when they were, they were completed “half-cocked and poorly thought out.” (That’s a direct quote I heard several times by leadership in meetings describing the product department’s culture) They spent two years and millions of dollars building a V2 to their system, and in the end, it was inoperable & useless, and they only had like 5 Customers on it. All in all, it was a learning experience for me. I learned that I never wanted to work for a company like this again. But again, there were some great people there who genuinely cared about what they were doing. Unfortunately, they didn't have the leadership to execute anything substantial...

Pros

Great place to work if you like company culture, flexible work scheduling, and fun benefits. People are very friendly and work environment is relaxed

Cons

Not a great place if you value transparency. Even though they preach being transparent, they often do surprise lay offs and don't warn employees about trouble within the business until it's far too late. Not great if you like stable work environments
