For those people focused on management of an existing product-line, W.R. Grace is a great company to work for. It has a very good focus on ensuring that products and services exceed the market norms.

Cons

Change is either too slow or too rapid. Those who are trying to implement long-term strategic changes find resources are lacking and resistance at all turns. Meanwhile, projects which have the ability to extract shareholder value are steam-rollered through the organization. If you cannot take the punches... don't work her.

This internship position in particular has been a great experience. Grace is a big chemicals company, with opportunities in lots of different areas. You really get experience in a range of fields and then you can choose what you want to focus on.

Cons

They are very fixed in their way of doing things. They have had business in a variety of processes for a very long time and maybe it's just because I work in R&D, but it seems as though they don't particularly like change...
