Pros

Open-minded about technology. Compensation decent (I think). Good cross-functional interaction. Management communications, esp. from CEO level, seem honest and straight-forward.

Cons

Company on the move but faltering in trying to change too fast. Sometimes it feels like Senior Management makes changes for the sake of making changes...i.e. "need to do something" ...so start new initiatives without understanding what needs to be exactly done. In the end, little gets accomplished but you've moved on to next thing to try! Need to have better processes to deliver results. Need to do better in feedback/performance reviews - the existing system is a farce.

Pros

Well established and respected company in its fields. Very good benefits and career advancement potential, coupled with down to earth people and open door policy at all levels make it one of the better places I've worked at.

Cons

Not a big brand recognition outside of its industries. Grace has been in Chapter 11 for 7 years, not due to financial distress, but to protect itself from asbestos liability. Much of the newer Sr Leadership was bred at General Electric, bringing in too much short term P&L focus for a company that works in long industry cycles.
